During the storm Shreveport Fire Department was the #1 listened to scanner feed in the entire nation.

LATEST DR. CARTER'S CORNER REPORT

April 2013

The three new engines are now in service at Stations 4, 9, 20. They were exchanged for the regular rigs April 10 thru April 12. Their Ferrara production numbers are H5169, H5170 AND h5171. Some features: Igniter Custom fire chassis, Cummins 450 hp motor, Allison transmission, seating for 5....

Apartment Fire
9730 Baird Road
May 12, 2013

At 5:15pm Shreveport Firefirefighters were dispatched out to a reported apartment on fire. As Engine 17 left their station they reported a "working fire" with heavy smoke visible. Engine 17 was first due and advised all units that fire was coming from the roof of a two story apartment building. Signal 51 was second due and Engine 15 was third due.

New Engine 9 In Service

Engine 9 is one of the three new Ferrara Igniters Shreveport Fire Department ordered. Engine 9 made it back to its resting place on April 10 of 2013 around 2pm. Signal 51 members stood by at Station 9 to get video of it first arriving and to take pictures.
