Approx 18 Smoke Detectors were installed in the homes of the assigned area of the team. The team of volunteers were warmly greeted by every resident who welcomed the workers into their homes. In addition to installing new detectors the team also checked existing smoke detectors and replaced batteries in non-working detectors. In a few cases defective detectors were replaced with new ones. ones.  The new detectors boast a 10 year battery life, which will greatly increase the safety factor local residents. The presence of  the new detectors will allow faster response time for residents to flee a burning structure and decrease response time for while fire fighters and rescue personnel.
