Enrico Brocato a Signal 51 Group member
Restored Engine 7 in the early 1970's
Actually this American LaFrance Metropolitan
was not a 1928 as papers showing the sale to
Mr. Brocato listed it as a 1927
The red emergency light in front of the radiator
was not the original, but Mr. Brocato found the
original and replaced it a few years after this photo
There are a couple of other items that were not
original. The gasoline tank behind the seat could
not be restored and a close replacement was made.
The wheels on the original were solid metal and
were replaced with the wooden spoke-wheels.
This fire engine is on permanent display at
the new S.F.D. Maintenance Facility's
Museum showroom.
This fire engine belongs to the
Shreveport Firefighters Museum.
