|
10:00 – 12:30AM |
We will proceed to the Caddo Parish
911 Communication Center for a tour of this facility. After the tour we will have a presentation in the
Training Room at the 911 Center that will show how a major
catastrophe in our area might be handled. This room is large and
has wall size monitors and all kinds of technology for you to
see.
You should really enjoy this. |
|
1:00PM to 2:30PM |
A fine buffet lunch has been
setup at one of our local Mexican Restaurants,
|
3:00PM to 5:00PM
|
We will gather at the Stoner
Boat Launch and Marina for a Shreveport Fire Department Presentation. Such things as drafting from the Red
River and pumping into our newest Hook & Ladder Truck's ladder pipe will keep you enthralled. During this time
different S.F.D. apparatus will be brought in and out for your photograph taking opportunity.
|
|
5:30PM to 7:30PM |
If you so desire, attend the Holiday in
Dixie Parade which will be downtown. |
|
Dinner on your own |
|
7:30 to 10:30PM |
And for
you real gung-ho buffs there will be a limited number of ride-outs
(ride-alongs) with
S.F.D. companies
available to qualified buffs. You must register for the meeting by
March 7, 2008 and qualify.
|
To qualify you must be a member of and be in good
standing with a IFBA affricated Club. You will need to buy an identifying T-shirt (price has not been determined
at this time*), sign a waiver and be assigned to a engine or rescue company. Of course, there is a chance you will not
turn a wheel, but on the other hand you may get 15 or so runs.
Note: If you are not presently a member of an IFBA
affiliated club, we are offering membership in the Signal 51 Group, so that you can participate in the ride-out
program Saturday night. To do this you will need to fill out a Signal 51 Group Membership Application and upon
approval by the Signal 51 membership committee, pay a years dues of $60.00. The initiation fee of $25.00
will be wavered. This will give you all the privileges of a probationary member of our group and give you an
opportunity for you to participate in the ride-out option at our IFBA Meeting. You do not have to live in the
Shreveport area to become a member of Signal 51, in fact, you can live anywhere in the world. If you are interested in doing this you must act
fast so that there will be enough time to process your application
and for the membership committee to approve you. Remember
you must buy the identifying T-shirt, and Register for the meeting before
March 7th.
All of the above is subject to change. But
regardless, if you become a member of Signal 51 we will make sure
that you will be able to get to a ride-out.
