At 11:37pm Shreveport firefighters received word from Shreveport Police Department that officers were on scene at Wyandotte Street and Alexander Avenue with heavy flames coming from an apartment. First engine due reported heavy smoke and heavy flames coming from the roof of an apartment complex. Command arrived on scene and ordered firefighters to start a defensive attack on the structure. Truck 7 got in position to setup the aerial ladder and started an attack from above. The fire eventually came under control within the hour. Command requested dispatch to call an engine out to the scene every hour to check on the building. Crews stayed on scene till the early morning hours. The fire originated from somebody sweating copper piping from a bathroom. The building was vacant and no injuries were reported.
