At 9:28pm Shreveport firefighters were dispatched out to a reported pedestrian hit by a train then fell into the Red River. The 911 caller stayed on the phone with dispatchers and tried desperately not to lose site of the body drifting down the Red River. Shreveport Fire Department arrived on scene in minutes and immediately called for other agencies to respond. Bossier Fire Department, Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office and Shreveport Police Department all responded to the call for help. Soon after SR-1 switched the mission from a rescue to a recovery. An hour and a half later of nothing found the search was called off. The following morning at 08:00 hours Shreveport Fire Department and other agencies continued their search. Despite their efforts the individual was never found. Around 11:00 hours that day agencies called off the search.
